Know what your connection is doing.

Watch current traffic, check connectivity and measure download and upload speed in one place.

NetGate native live-monitor interface with example data

Three questions. Three useful answers.

Current traffic

What is my Mac using right now?

Live Monitor shows current download and upload rates. These readings describe the traffic already passing through your Mac, rather than the maximum speed of your internet plan.

Connection checks

Can this connection reach the internet?

Check reference endpoints at Apple, Google and Yandex. A failed check can mean that one service or route is unavailable; it does not by itself prove that the entire internet is down.

Speed Test

How much can this route transfer?

Start a download and upload test through Cloudflare. NetGate first checks that exact test route. The reference-site checks remain diagnostic and do not decide whether a speed test can run.

See which apps are active.

Alongside the live graph, NetGate shows up to five leading apps or processes from the recent minute, with their current incoming and outgoing rates. Use the main panel for the complete usage list and longer reporting periods.

Keep it next to your work.

Open Live Monitor from the waveform button in the NetGate panel. Detach the monitor when you want a separate window beside a call, download or cloud sync.
